Jacqueline to make a Hollywood debut?

After Aishwarya Rai Bachchan's and Bipasha Basu's Hollywood outing, its now model-turned-actor Jacqueline Fernandez, who is all set to make a splash in a Canadian-British venture.

The 26-year-old has been approached for Definition of Fear, a project that marks the directorial debut of producer James Simpson.

"I have been approached for that. Talks are on, nothing has been finalised yet," Jacqueline told PTI in an interview.

Born in Sri Lanka, the former beauty queen made her acting debut in 2009 in Bollywood with Aladin alongside Amitabh Bachchan, Ritesh Deshmukh, and then once again appeared alongside Deshmukh in the romantic-comedy Jaane Kahan Se Aayi Hai. Both the films were box office duds.

However, her last outing opposite Emraan Hashmi in Murder 2, was one of the highest grossing films of 2011.

The actor would be next seen in Sajid Khan's Housefull 2 which has ensemble star cast including Akshay Kumar, John Abraham, Asin, Zarine Khan, Rishi Kapoor, Randhir Kapoor, Mithun Chakraborty and Boman Irani. The film releases on April 5.

Earlier, Aishwarya featured in a Hollywood film, titled The Pink Panther 2 and Bipasha Basu would soon be seen in Singularity.
Jacqueline has also been signed up for Pravegaya, her maiden outing in Sri Lankan film industry.

"I have always had lot of support from Sri Lanka and people have been very nice and supportive. There are lots of Bollywood fans in Sri Lanka. Right now, our country is shaping up and our glamour and movie industries are also opening up. I want to be there.. either to show support or be a part of it in some way," the former Miss Sri Lanka said.

Kareena Kapoor to do item number in ‘Heroine’

Actress Kareena Kapoor, who has lately been doing many item numbers in Bollywood, is gearing up for her next item song in Madhur Bhandarkar’s “Heroine”.

“We have a new item song called ‘Halkat Jawani’ which is a wonderful song that will be picturised on Kareena Kapoor. I am sure the audiences will love this song. This film ‘Heroine’ will be a different sort of film for Kareena Kapoor,” Bhandarkar told IANS.

Directed by Bhandarkar, the film has Kareena and Arjun Rampal in the lead.

The director says 40 percent of the shooting has been done.

“Forty percent of the film has been finished. From (April) 10th, we will again have a nonstop shooting and by September the film will be released,” he said.

Bhandarkar also sought to deny speculation that the film is based on Manisha Koirala’s life.

“This film is not based on Manisha Koirala. It is absolutely wrong. Lot of things had been written about the film before. I have created a character called Mahi Arora who is today’s girl. The film is all about how she witnesses the ups and downs in her life,” he said. – IANS

She's been diligently keeping up with her fitness routine, and Miley Cyrus was back out on Thursday (March 29) for a Winsor Pilates class in Los Angeles, California.

The sporty 19-year-old was clad in an all-black ensemble as she grabbed up a post-Pilates smoothie before cruising away from the Melrose Ave. gym locale.

After having taken a break from social networking, Miss Cyrus is back to tweeting in full force - as she took to Twitter during the course of the day to offer up some words of wisdom.

On the career front, recent reports tell that Cyrus is working with Paramount Pictures on a Christian-based film about "a young woman’s broken promise to God."

A source told MileyCyrus.bz, “There was a meeting for the film three weeks ago, a table reading two weeks ago and they’ve been working on the scripts for the film since the March 18, 2012."

Is the world ready for a sequel to Twins?

Universal and Montecito Picture Co. are hoping to develop a doozy of a follow-up to the 1988 hit comedy that starred Arnold Schwarzenegger and Danny DeVito that would reunite the two stars.

But wait, there’s a twist: In the new scenario, Eddie Murphy would act as a third brother.

Titled Triplets, the story would see Schwarzenegger and DeVito as brothers Julius and Vincent, conceived experimentally, who discover they have third sibling.

The project doesn’t have a director at this early stage -- Ivan Reitman, who helmed the original, would only act as a producer with his Montecito Picture Co. cohorts Joe Medjuk, Tom Pollock and Ali Bell, according to sources -- but the hunt is on for writers to develop the idea. Insiders caution that no substantial creative discussions have taken place between Universal and Montecito.

The actors are attached to star.

This wouldn’t be the first sequel to an 1988 film that Universal is working. The studio is developing a sequel to Midnight Run that sees Robert De Niro, one of the film’s two original stars along with Charles Grodin, returning in an incarnation to be directed by Brett Ratner.

‘So You Think You Can Dance’ Judges: Contestants This Season Are ‘Beasts’

LOS ANGELES, Calif. -- “So You Think You Can Dance” returns to FOX for its ninth season on May 24, and judges Mary Murphy and Nigel Lythgoe promise the contestants will shock audiences once again.

“Every year me and Nigel turn to each other and go, ‘How’s it going to get better than that?’” Mary told AccessHollywood.com’s Laura Saltman, as the cast took part in a photo shoot earlier this week. “But, the fact is that it does. We’ve seen things this year on the audition trail that we’ve never seen before and people have taken it to a new level.”

Nigel said the success of the show has helped produce another new crop of stunning performers.

“They know that they need signature moves. Obviously they’ll get straight through to Vegas if they do signature moves. I think what’s happened is the street kids have mixed with the trained kids and the trained kids have mixed with the street kids and it’s created this symbiotic creature,” Nigel told Laura. “We call them beasts, and they can do about anything.”

The judge said there is one contestant, who came through auditions, who left Nigel very, very impressed.

“There’s one kid who said he was going to steal my soul, and he was going to exercise it and take it into his body and give it me back and I was going, ‘Oh, yeah, sure. OK then.’ He got about a minute and a half standing ovation from the audience,” Nigel said. “He was absolutely brilliant.”

Taking on “A Song for You,” the Donnie Hathway classic, the bespectacled contender gave one of his most moving performances, but it was too late.

“Heejun Han, let the record show that you knew this was coming yourself,” judge Steven Tyler said after Heejun’s performance. “You saw it come last week, you know what was going on in the past and you took it up a couple notches. Uh… Unfortunately after talking, we’re gonna have to let you go, man.”

Judge Ends Lindsay Lohan’s Probation

LOS ANGELES, Calif. -- A judge ended Lindsay Lohan’s supervised probation on Thursday, giving the actress her freedom after nearly two years of constant court hearings and threats of jail.

Lohan thanked Superior Court Judge Stephanie Sautner for her patience and let out a sigh of relief as she exited the courtroom after the brief hearing.

The judge had imposed a series of strict probation requirements including cleanup duty at the morgue and counseling sessions last year, and Lohan met all the requirements by Thursday’s deadline.

“I just want to say thank you for being fair. It’s really opened a lot of doors for me,” the 25-year-old Lohan said.

Sautner told the problem-prone actress she was not going to give a lecture, but reminded her that she will remain on informal probation until May 2014 for taking a necklace without permission last year.

“You need to live your life in a more mature way, stop the nightclubbing and focus on your work,” Sautner said.

If Lohan does get into more trouble, she could face a 245-day jail sentence in the necklace case. The judge said she understood that Lohan may be frustrated with constant scrutiny by paparazzi and others, but noted, “That’s the life you chose.”

A probation report filed in the case noted that Los Angeles police are investigating a nightclub manager’s claims that Lohan struck him with her Porsche two weeks ago, but no charges have been filed.

The hearing came as Lohan’s career is showing hints of a comeback. She is due to guest star on an upcoming episode of “Glee,” recently hosted a highly rated but criticized episode of “Saturday Night Live” and is set to star as Elizabeth Taylor in a television movie.

“Lindsay is already talking about her next few projects,” her spokesman Steve Honig wrote in a statement after the hearing. “She is ready to start the next chapter in her life and get back to work and doing what she loves to do - making movies.”

Roles have been hard to come by for Lohan in recent years, as she has been in-and-out of courtrooms, spent time in rehab and was sentenced to jail.

Her failure to complete alcohol education classes in 2010 prompted a judge to sentence her to jail for the first time since the actress served 84 minutes for a pair of drunken driving arrests in 2007. A court-ordered rehab stint was cut short, but Lohan relapsed before year’s end and was sent by another judge to the Betty Ford Center, where she was involved in a fight with a rehab worker.

Within three weeks of her release in January 2011, Lohan was accused of stealing the $2,500 necklace from a store near her Venice home and soon landed in Sautner’s court. The judge rejected rehab and tried to send Lohan to jail as punishment. Overcrowding reduced a November 2011 sentence to a few hours, although the actress did serve 35 days on house arrest earlier in the year.

Lohan is far from the only celebrity to encounter trouble complying with the terms of alcohol-related cases and ending up in jail. Fellow female celebrities such as Paris Hilton, Nicole Richie and Khloe Kardashian have all been sentenced to jail and faced multiple court hearings because they didn’t properly comply with their sentences. All their cases have long since ended.

Kim Kardashian Assaulted with White Powder

Kim Kardashian was assaulted Thursday night by a woman who threw white powder all over her, and it was concerning enough to call out the fire department.

Kim was at the London Hotel in West Hollywood for an event touting her new fragrance line, True Reflection. She was walking the red carpet when a woman threw the white powder at her from behind, covering her back and her hair. During the incident, the attacker shouted, "Fur hag."

Kim went to a private room, took the jacket off, brushed the powder off her hair and returned to the event. But the fire department had to examine the powder and deal with any possible danger.

They determined it was cooking flour.

The woman who threw the powder was detained by cops, but according to the Sheriff's Department Kim decided NOT to press charges and the woman was released.

Lindsay's Alleged Victim Pay Me at Least $100K .... Or Else

The man who claims Lindsay Lohan struck him while she was driving her Porsche last week is demanding "six figures" from her .... and she must pay before her big probation progress hearing.

Sources connected with alleged victim Thaer Kamal tell TMZ ... Mark Geragos -- Kamal's lawyer -- has contacted Lindsay's lawyer, Shawn Holley, and made the demand ... and Geragos made it clear that his client has not yet cooperated with cops by sitting down for an interview.

We're also told Geragos claims to have a surveillance video showing Lindsay behind the wheel as her Porsche strikes Kamal, then getting out of the car and wobbling into the passenger seat as the passenger takes the wheel and drives off. But our sources say none of the witnesses corroborate what Geragos claims is on video.

We're told Geragos gave Holley a deadline of today. That's significant because Lindsay is due in court on Thursday for her final probation progress hearing. If Kamal goes to cops and presents evidence of hit-and-run, Judge Stephanie Sautner could violate Lindsay's probation and she could go directly to jail.

On the other hand, if Lindsay pays the money ... Kamal could decide not to press charges and the case would be dropped.

By the way, we're told Kamal told people at the scene he was not injured but had a change of heart after learning the driver was Lindsay.

Sunny Leone back in India for Jism 2

Julie Bowen’s Disneyland Mishap: ‘I Threw Up After Space Mountain’

“The entire storyline-- Phil’s [Ty Burrell] storyline in that-- is about how as you get older, the fluid in your inner ear hardens or thickens and you can’t do all the crazy rides anymore,” she added. “That’s from me — that’s my story. I can’t even turn in a circle without throwing up anymore.”

With her Disneyland days thankfully behind her, the actress is contemplating heading to New York City to support her pal/“Modern Family” co-star Sofia Vergara as she makes her hosting debut on “Saturday Night Live” in early April.

“I’m thinking I’m going to go — I want to fly up there,” she told Access of traveling to The Big Apple. “I’m going to be in Florida with my family, and I’m going to sneak out and try and fly up and see her.”

Julie added that she believes Sofia will ace the hosting gig.

“She’s going to be amazing!” Julie said. “She has the most amazing ability to ignore stress and tension. She has no idea that-- I think she might not know it’s live — quite possibly!”

Russell Brand Leaves Cop Shop ... After Arrest

Russell Brand is a free man once again ... he was just sprung from jail after posting bail.

TMZ broke the story ... Russell turned himself in to the New Orleans Sheriff's Office today, where he was booked on 2 counts of simple criminal damage to property -- both misdemeanors.

As we reported, Russell allegedly threw a photog's iPhone through a law firm window Monday night. Russell's camp has since paid for the repairs ... amounting to $240.

Russell was released on $5,000 bond.

Britney Spears "Still in Talks" to Judge X Factor

Britney Spears is reportedly still in talks to join The X Factor.

It's unclear if she'll really end up doing it, but it's not as far-fetched as it first seemed. According to People, it looks like the gig is more than a remote possibility.

"There have been talks" with Spears and her team, a source says "Anything is possible." Reveals a second source: "I've heard they are in negotiations."

Should Spears, 30, fill one of the open judge seats on the reality competition, she would likely slow the rampant speculation about who will join the cast.

Janet Jackson and Avril Lavigne have been rumored as well. Last week, a new report suggested Spears wanted $20 million to take the gig and the show balked.

"Are we flattered that there could be interest? Yes," Simon Cowell told reporters on a conference call last month of Spears. But he wouldn't confirm anything.

"I've learned a big lesson: Keep your mouth shut."

Salman Khan's pain returns, post surgery!

Salman Khan who underwent a surgery for nerve disorder trigeminal neuralgia recently is experiencing pain in his jaw again. The pain returned while shooting for Kabir Khan's Ek Tha Tiger in Cuba, reports Mumbai Mirror.

“Salman is feeling a knot in his jaw,” a source from the film unit confirmed to the tabloid.

“Salman is on medication for the same. But he doesn’t worry about it much. People suffer from all kinds of conditions - blood pressure, diabetes, cholesterol. This too is a physical condition. This doesn’t mean that it will deter Salman from living his life to the fullest," Salman's friend shared with the tabloid.

For nearly four years, Salman Khan kept his nerve disorder close to his chest and continued to work even though at times he felt an 'electric shock' in a part of his forehead. Salman said he underwent an eight-hour-long surgery for the nerve disorder, Trigeminal Neuralgia on August 31 in the US, though he was initially told it would be only a 30-minute operation.

Before going to US for the surgery, Salman Khan shared with HT's Minkashi Saini about the disease in August last year. “I am suffering from trigeminal neuralgia, a facial nerve problem I have had since the last seven years. But now, it’s getting worse. Ab dard hadd se paar ho gaya hai and I am going to kill it."
