Two teenagers who met Kate Middleton and Prince William in September have passed away within a week of each other.
Kate, 30, and Wills, 29, who visited cancer patients at the Royal Marsden Hospital in Sutton, were upset to hear that Beth Ansell, 19, and Amanda Slann, 17, died last month.
'The couple are very saddened and pass on their condolences,' a spokesman for the Royal couple tells the Daily Mirror.
William travelled straight from a 24-hour shift as an RAF search and rescue helicopter pilot to the children's cancer unit 5 months ago.
'The Duke of Cambridge, during a speech at the @royalmarsden in Surrey: "I always come away from the Royal Marsden feeling totally uplifted",' Clarence House Tweeted after the Duke and Duchess's day at the hospital.
