Kate Middleton is already such a style queen, any high street item she wears sells out in minutes.

But The Hills star Whitney Port, who will be a judge on the next series of Britain And Ireland's Next Top Model, reckons 30-year-old Kate's fashion sense is a little drab.

'Kate isn't my favourite,' says Whitney.

'She is considered a style icon because of her role but she needs more colour.'

Whitney, 27, also wishes Kate would be more adventurous.

'She can still be feminine and classic but she doesn't need to wear so many shift dresses,' she tells the Sunday Mirror.

However, it seems there aren't many people who agree.

The Vice-Chancellor of Leicester's De Montfort University spoke of his delight as university's Footwear Design undergraduates were given the chance to create shoes for Kate last week.

'When asked who their first commission was at their first job interview,' Professor Dominic Shellard announced, 'they can reply: "The Duchess of Cambridge, the world's leading fashion icon".'
